Kitchen terms

A link from Kat... here are British kitchen terms that make cooking somewhat confusing. Also odd is how Brits use kitchen scales. Obviously they weigh food... but why? Can someone explain?


  1. Portion control? Not something us Americans are too familiar with, ha ha.

  2. Because we like using them, and they are a more accurate way of measuring quantities. Most Europeans use them too -- it's not just a British thing.
